You also may want to check in device manager or your bios setup that your printer port is in the right mode for the printer's requirements, usually ECP or EPP/ECP seems to work fine. If all else fails, Epson has a good knowledge base for problems, as well as good customer support after you plow through the basics.

If it doesn't work, or Sideways turns out to be too much work to use, then you can always switch to C= emulation and use 1525 drivers with your software. However, many Commodore productivity programs support Epson printers, and using your printer in that mode ought to allow higher-quality printouts.

I am having a problem, in that my computer recognizes the fact that there is a printer installed but the printer will not operate.
